There are so many possibilities with drawing and painting birds! I love how the beautiful, jewel bright, random texture of painted paper works so well with depicting our wonderful fine feathered birdie friends. I am spending the spring and summer in a beautiful mountain village far from the noise and bustle of city life and the air is filled with the sweet sound of birdsong from dusk to dawn. I love watching pretty and graceful swallows swooping and diving through the narrow village streets. There is an abundance of wildflowers now in the spring in shades of yellow, pink and purple and lilac. Don´t you just love vintage nature illustrations?
